Functional coatings are applied when fasteners require a surface treatment that performs a specific technical role beyond basic protection. These coatings are typically made from polymer-based materials such as polyamide, plastisol, or polyolefin and are selected based on performance requirements and operating conditions.
TufLok® and Nytemp® Patch
These coatings provide dependable thread locking for fastened joints. A highly elastic, wear-resistant polyamide is applied to selected areas of the threads, filling the axial clearance between the screw and the mating thread. The result is a tight, vibration-resistant connection that maintains consistent locking performance over repeated use.
Precote® 5 – Adhesive coating
Precote® 5 is a nonreactive, film-forming coating that incorporates mineral-based solid lubricants for use on threaded components. It provides an immediate sealing solution for cylindrical and conical threads and is safe for handling and assembly. Once applied, the coating dries to a clean, tack-free finish that ensures smooth installation and reliable sealing performance.
Nyseal® – Under-head coating
Nyseal® is a polyolefin-based plastic coating applied directly under the head, flange, or thread run-out of screws and other threaded components. It provides an integrated sealing solution, eliminating the need for separate washers, seals, or O-rings.
Nyplas® – Under-head coating
Nyplas® is a modified plastisol coating applied beneath the head, flange, or thread run-out of fasteners. It forms a durable, built-in seal that replaces manually installed washers, seals, and O-rings, simplifying assembly and improving reliability.
Precote® 30/80/85 – Adhesive coating
Precote® Micro Encapsulated is a pre-applied locking adhesive designed for threaded components. During assembly, pressure between the mating threads ruptures the microcapsules, releasing the adhesive and curing agent. The resulting bond provides a strong, vibration-resistant locking effect.
Nystay® – Fixing coating
Nystay® is a polyolefin-based precoating applied to the shaft or threads of fasteners to hold them securely in position during transport, handling, and assembly. It helps prevent loss or misalignment of components, supporting efficient, automated installation.
