The PEM® B-0420-1ZI is a self-clinching blind nut designed to provide strong, load-bearing threads in thin aluminum or steel sheets. This fastener features a closed-end (blind) design that creates a barrier against contaminants, protecting internal threads from dust, dirt, and liquids. It also functions as a limit for screw penetration, preventing damage to internal components. The part is installed by being squeezed into a prepared hole using a standard press; the host material then cold-flows into an undercut to permanently lock the fastener in place with high torque-out and pushout resistance. Once installed, the mounting sheet remains flush on the reverse side, maintaining a clean external profile.
