The Heli-Coil® 1185-2BN164 is a free-running, tanged wire thread insert fabricated from phosphor bronze. Engineered to form strong, permanent #8-32 UNC threads in soft parent materials, this insert offers excellent electrical conductivity, low magnetic permeability, and superior corrosion resistance. Its precision-wound helical coil design evenly distributes clamping forces throughout the thread engagement length, shielding tapped holes against thread stripping, wear, and galling.
