Product Description
The PEM® LAC-032-1MD is a self-locking, floating self-clinching nut designed to provide strong, load-bearing threads in thin sheets. This fastener features a Dry Film Lubricant (MD) finish and incorporates a prevailing torque-locking feature to prevent hardware loosening under vibration. It permits up to .030” (0.76 mm) total adjustment to compensate for mating hole misalignment. Engineered with a unique PEM design where the threads extend fully into the retainer shank, it provides extra strength and support. The fastener is installed by being squeezed into prepared holes using a standard press, causing the host material to cold-flow into an undercut for permanent locking, while leaving the reverse side of the sheet flush.
Misalignment Compensation: Provides .015” minimum float in all directions from center (.030” total) to account for mating hole inaccuracies.
Self-Locking Thread: Features a prevailing torque-locking mechanism to ensure secure fastening in high-vibration applications.
Dry Film Lubricant: Finished with MoS2 (molybdenum disulfide) dry film lubricant for consistent torque-tension performance.
Enhanced Support: Threads extend fully into the retainer shank for superior strength and engagement.
Flush Installation: Leaves the reverse side of the host sheet entirely flush for a clean assembly profile.
NASM - Products meet Military Specifications (MS) and National Aerospace Standards (NAS) requirements as applicable and are shipped with appropriate documentation.
