LAC-440-2MD - Floating self-clinching, locking thread nut by PennEngineering ® (PEM ® )

The LAC-440-2MD is a floating self-clinching nut designed to provide high-strength locking threads in thin metal sheets. This fastener features a unique floating nut housed within a stainless steel retainer, allowing for 0.76mm of total adjustment to compensate for mating hole misalignment. It incorporates a prevailing torque locking feature to ensure that screws remain secure even when subjected to intense vibration. Specifically engineered for use in sheets with a hardness of HRB 70 or less, the self-clinching design allows the fastener to become a permanent part of the assembly when squeezed into a prepared hole, ensuring the reverse side of the host sheet remains completely flush.

Misalignment Compensation: Permits 0.38mm minimum float in all directions from center (0.76mm total) to correct for mating hole inaccuracies.

Self-Locking Thread: Features a prevailing torque locking element to secure hardware against loosening from vibration or thermal cycling.

Permanent Attachment: Clinches into place for a high-strength, permanent installation that eliminates the risk of loose or lost parts.

Flush Installation: The side opposite the installation remains flush, providing a clean surface and functional clearance for adjacent components.

Corrosion Resistance: Manufactured from 300 Series Stainless Steel for durability in a variety of environments.
