Self-clinching fasteners are advantageous because of their strong threads in very thin material, their ability to be installed using any standard arbor press, and their high push-out and torque-out resistance. Self-clinching nuts and other self-clinching fasteners do not require special hole preparation such as chamfering and deburring. The reverse side remains flush and no re-tapping is necessary after applications. Self-clinching fasteners also provide the benefit of low installed costs, fewer parts to handle, fewer assembly steps and less assembly time.
