Product Description
The SS-032-2ZI is a threaded nut designed for flush-mounting installation in steel or aluminum sheets with a hardness of HRB 80 or less. The fastener features a unique clinching design: when pressed into a properly sized hole using a parallel squeezing force, the host metal cold-flows into an undercut beneath the nut's head. A serrated clinching ring further secures the nut, preventing rotation during high-torque assembly.
The "2" in the part number indicates a specific shank length, optimized for sheets with a minimum thickness of .056 in (1.43 mm). The "ZI" suffix denotes a clear zinc finish that provides corrosion resistance while remaining RoHS compliant.
High Hardness Compatibility: Specifically hardened to perform in sheets where standard nuts may fail to clinch properly.
