The SS-M5-2ZI is a carbon steel threaded insert designed to be permanently installed into thin metallic sheets. It features a unique clinching profile that, when pressed into a properly sized round hole, causes the host material to cold-flow into an undercut, effectively locking the nut into the sheet.
