Product Description
The S-M4-2ZI is a carbon steel threaded insert that becomes an integral part of the host panel through a cold-flow clinching process. When the nut is pressed into a properly sized round hole, the clinching ring displaces the host material into an undercut, locking the fastener securely in place. This mechanism ensures high pushout and torque-out resistance, far exceeding the performance of tapped threads in thin materials.
Permanent Attachment: Eliminates the risk of loose hardware falling into sensitive electronic or mechanical assemblies.
Flush Finish: The reverse side of the sheet remains entirely flush, allowing for clean exterior surfaces and close-fitting components.
High Torque Resistance: The knurled clinching ring provides superior resistance to rotation during screw installation.
Standard Tooling: Can be installed using any standard press that provides a parallel "squeeze" action.
