The Heli-Coil 3585-02CN086 is a high-precision screw-locking wire thread insert designed to establish high-strength, permanent internal threads in light metals, alloys, and composite host materials. Precision-coiled from work-hardened 304 stainless steel wire with a specialized diamond-shaped cross-section, this tanged insert features internal locking coils with straight chordal segments. When male hardware is driven in, these flat segments flex outward to exert a continuous, self-locking prevailing torque onto the fastener threads. This provides supreme vibration resistance, preventing rotational backing-out under heavy dynamic shock while protecting delicate parent materials against internal thread stripping, galling, and wear.
