Product Description
The AC-M5-1 is a floating self-clinching nut designed to provide high-strength, load-bearing threads in thin metal sheets. This fastener features a unique floating nut housed within a stainless steel retainer, allowing for up to 0.76mm of total adjustment to compensate for mating hole misalignment. Its self-clinching design ensures that when the fastener is squeezed into a prepared hole using a standard press, the metal sheet remains flush on one side while the nut becomes permanently locked in place. This specific model is constructed from 300 Series Stainless Steel, making it ideal for use in aluminum or steel sheets with a hardness of HRB 70 or less.
Compensates for Misalignment: Permits 0.38mm minimum float in all directions from center (0.76mm total).
Permanent Installation: Clinches into place to become an integral part of the assembly, preventing loose hardware.
Flush Finish: Once installed, the reverse side of the host metal sheet remains completely flush.
High Strength: Threads extend fully into the retainer shank for superior support and load-bearing capabilities.
Simple Assembly: Easily installed into plain, round holes using any standard parallel-acting squeezing force.
NASM - Products meet Military Specifications (MS) and National Aerospace Standards (NAS) requirements as applicable and are shipped with appropriate documentation.
