Product Description
The AC-M5-2 is a floating self-clinching nut designed to provide high-strength load-bearing threads in thin metal sheets while allowing for mating hole misalignment. This fastener features a unique floating nut housed within a stainless steel retainer, permitting up to 0.76mm of total adjustment (0.38mm in all directions from center). Using a self-clinching design, the fastener is permanently installed by squeezing it into a prepared round hole, leaving the reverse side of the sheet completely flush. Constructed from 300 Series Stainless Steel, it is specifically engineered for use in sheets with a hardness of HRB 70 or less, such as aluminum or cold-rolled steel.
Misalignment Compensation: The floating nut allows for 0.38mm minimum float in all directions from center to correct for assembly inaccuracies.
Permanent Attachment: Becomes an integral part of the metal sheet once installed, eliminating the risk of loose or falling hardware.
Flush Installation: Provides a smooth, flush finish on the side opposite the installation for a clean aesthetic and functional clearance.
High Torque-Out Resistance: The clinching ring effectively locks the fastener into the sheet to resist high levels of torque and push-out forces.
Simplified Assembly: Can be installed using any standard press with a parallel-acting squeezing force.
