Product Description
The PEM® AC-832-2 is a non-locking, floating self-clinching nut designed to provide strong, load-bearing threads in thin sheets while permitting up to .030” (0.76 mm) total adjustment for mating hole misalignment. This fastener features a unique PEM design where the threads of the floating nut extend fully into the retainer shank, offering extra strength and support in the assembly. It is installed by being squeezed into prepared holes using any standard press; the host sheet material then cold-flows into an undercut to permanently lock the fastener in place. Once installed, the mounting sheet remains flush on one side, ensuring no protrusions interfere with the assembly.
Misalignment Compensation: Provides .015” (0.38 mm) minimum float in all directions from center (.030” / 0.76 mm total) to account for mating hole inaccuracies.
Enhanced Support: Unique PEM design features threads that extend fully into the retainer shank for superior strength.
Self-Clinching Action: Squeezes into prepared holes for high pushout and torque-out resistance.
Flush Installation: Leaves the reverse side of the host sheet entirely flush for a clean assembly profile.
Material Integrity: Specifically designed for installation into steel or aluminum panels with a maximum hardness of HRB 70 / HB 125.
