AC-M6-2 - Floating Self-Clinching Nut by PennEngineering ® (PEM ® )

The AC-M6-2 is a floating self-clinching nut specifically designed to provide high-strength, load-bearing threads in thin metal sheets. This fastener features a unique floating nut housed within a stainless steel retainer, allowing for up to 0.76mm of total adjustment to compensate for mating hole misalignment. Utilizing a self-clinching design, the fastener is permanently installed by squeezing it into a prepared round hole using a standard press, ensuring the reverse side of the metal sheet remains completely flush. Constructed from 300 Series Stainless Steel, it is ideal for use in sheets with a hardness of HRB 70 or less. NASM - Products meet Military Specifications (MS) and National Aerospace Standards (NAS) requirements as applicable and are shipped with appropriate documentation.

Compensates for Misalignment: Permits 0.38mm minimum float in all directions from center (0.76mm total) to correct for assembly inaccuracies.

Permanent Installation: Clinches into place to become an integral part of the assembly, eliminating loose hardware.

Flush Finish: Once installed, the side opposite the installation remains flush for a clean appearance and clearance.

High Strength: Provides superior torque-out and push-out resistance within the host material.

Material Compatibility: Engineered for installation into aluminum or cold-rolled steel sheets with a hardness of HRB 70 / HB 125 or less.
