Product Description
The PEM® BSO-3.5M3-10ZI is a self-clinching blind threaded standoff designed to stack or space components while providing a permanent attachment in thin metal sheets. Featuring a closed-end (blind) design, the outer end of the standoff is solid, creating a barrier against contaminants and protecting internal threads from debris. This design also prevents screws from penetrating through the fastener, ensuring protection for delicate internal components. It is installed by being squeezed into a round hole using a standard press, which causes the host material to cold-flow into an undercut for high pushout and torque-out resistance. Once installed, the standoff remains flush with the mounting sheet, maintaining a clean external profile without the need for secondary welding or tapping.
