The PEM® BSOS-832-18 by PennEngineering® is an extended-length, high-performance unified blind threaded standoff engineered to create dependable structural spacing inside thin sheet metal enclosures. Utilizing a field-proven self-clinching design, the fastener drops seamlessly into a properly sized round hole and installs permanently with a standard squeezing action, displacing the host metal to achieve superior torque-out and pushout resistance without the thermal distortion or structural weaknesses of welding. Its blind-threaded (closed) pocket prevents mounting screws from passing completely through, ensuring that the opposite side of the sheet metal remains perfectly flush and unmarred for an unbroken exterior cosmetic finish. This closed geometry also creates a resilient, dust-tight seal, safeguarding sensitive internal electronics from outside debris, air currents, and environmental contaminants.
