The PEM® BSOS-M3-21 is a high-performance, metric self-clinching blind threaded standoff created by PennEngineering® to provide permanent internal threads in thin sheet metal panels. These fasteners deploy with a straightforward squeezing force into properly sized round holes, initiating a reliable self-clinching movement that forces panel material into the undercut to become a permanently mounted part of the chassis. Thanks to its blind-threaded engineering, the outer sheet surface stays completely flush and closed after installation. This allows engineers to preserve a sleek, unmarred panel exterior while forming an unbreached physical barrier that isolates delicate internal electronic components and the thread cavity from external moisture, dust, and airborne contaminants.
