The PEM® BSOS-M3-8 is a compact metric self-clinching blind threaded standoff precision-engineered by PennEngineering® to provide strong, permanent internal threads in thin metal sheets. These fasteners press smoothly into properly sized round holes using a steady squeezing force, utilizing a self-clinching design that forces host material into the undercut to become permanently mounted as an integral part of the chassis layout. Thanks to its blind-threaded engineering, the outer sheet surface remains completely flush and closed after installation. This allows engineers to maintain an unblemished exterior panel profile while creating an unbreached physical barrier that entirely isolates delicate internal electronic components and the thread cavity from external moisture, dust, and environmental contaminants.
