Product Description
The PEM® BSOS-M3-25 is an extra-long metric self-clinching blind threaded standoff designed by PennEngineering® to provide strong, load-bearing threads in thin sheet metal. These fasteners press smoothly into properly sized round holes, using a mechanical self-clinching action that forces host material into the undercut to become a permanently mounted component of the assembly. Engineered with a blind-threaded configuration, the back side of the host sheet remains completely flush and closed post-installation. This allows engineers to safeguard sensitive internal electronics from outside dust, moisture, and debris while maintaining a smooth, unmarred panel exterior.
Blind-Threaded Protection: Closed-bottom threads act as an environmental seal, shielding sensitive interior components from dust and liquid ingress.
Permanent Self-Clinching Fit: Displaces host material to provide exceptionally high torque-out and pushout resistance without loosening over time.
Flush External Profile: Leaves the exterior sheet face completely flat and unblemished, eliminating the need for secondary grinding or finishing.
Welding Alternative: Provides rugged, reusable internal threads in thin metal profiles without creating the heat stress, discoloration, or warping associated with spot welding.
