BSOS-M5-10 - Blind Threaded Standoffs by PennEngineering ® (PEM ® )

The PEM® BSOS-M5-10 is a metric self-clinching blind threaded standoff developed by PennEngineering® to establish high-strength, permanent internal threads in thin metal sheets. These fasteners press smoothly into properly sized round holes using a standard squeezing force, activating a mechanical self-clinching process that forces host material into the undercut to become a permanently mounted component of the chassis. Due to its blind-threaded engineering, the back side of the host panel remains completely flush and closed following installation. This enables design engineers to maintain a flawless, unmarred exterior panel profile while creating an unbreached physical barrier that entirely isolates delicate internal electronic components and the thread cavity from external moisture, dust, and debris.

Blind-Threaded Configuration: Features a closed bottom barrel that keeps the reverse side of the host sheet clean, smooth, and completely sealed against environmental ingress.

Permanent Self-Clinching Fit: Displaces host panel material into the fastener's undercut during installation, delivering high pushout and torque-out resistance without loosening over time.

Flush External Surface: Ensures the outer face of the panel remains entirely flat and unmarred for a premium aesthetic and streamlined appearance.
