The PEM® BSOS-M5-12 is a robust metric self-clinching blind threaded standoff precision-engineered by PennEngineering® to establish heavy-duty, load-bearing internal threads in thin sheet metal. These parts press smoothly into properly sized round holes using a steady parallel squeezing force, initiating a mechanical self-clinching movement that forces panel material to cold-flow into the undercut to become a permanently mounted structural component of the chassis. Thanks to its specialized blind-threaded engineering, the exterior sheet surface remains completely flush and closed post-installation. This enables design engineers to maintain a pristine, unmarred panel exterior while providing an unbreached physical barrier that isolates delicate internal electronic components and the thread cavity from external moisture, dust, and debris.

Blind-Threaded Configuration: Features a closed bottom barrel that keeps the reverse side of the host sheet clean, smooth, and completely sealed against environmental ingress.
