Product Description
The CLS-M4-2 from PennEngineering® (PEM®) is a self-clinching nut designed to provide strong, permanent load-bearing internal threads in thin sheet materials where conventional threading is impractical. This fastener is installed by pressing it into a properly sized pre-punched or drilled hole in sheet metal. During installation, the surrounding material cold flows into the nut’s undercut feature, forming a secure, permanent joint with high pushout and torque-out resistance. A serrated clinching ring prevents rotation once installed, ensuring reliable performance in demanding assembly applications.
The CLS-M4-2 is part of the CLS/CLSS/S/SS/SP family of self-clinching nuts, and is suitable for use in steel or aluminum sheet materials. It provides a metric M4 × 0.7 internal thread, making it ideal for panel assemblies where lightweight construction and internal threaded attachment points are required.
Typical applications include industrial equipment, electronics enclosures, telecommunications housings, and general sheet-metal fabrication where strong fastened connections are needed without welding or tapping.
