Product Description
The LA4-M3-1MD is a floating self-clinching nut designed to provide high-strength locking threads in thin metal sheets. This fastener features a unique floating nut that allows for 0.76mm of total adjustment to compensate for mating hole misalignment. It incorporates a prevailing torque locking feature to ensure that screws remain secure under vibration. Specifically engineered for use in stainless steel sheets, the self-clinching design allows the fastener to become a permanent part of the assembly when squeezed into a prepared hole, leaving the reverse side of the host sheet completely flush.
Misalignment Compensation: Permits 0.38mm minimum float in all directions from center (0.76mm total) to correct for assembly inaccuracies.
Self-Locking Thread: Features a prevailing torque element to prevent hardware loosening due to vibration or thermal cycling.
Permanent Attachment: Clinches into place to become an integral part of the metal sheet, eliminating the risk of loose or lost hardware.
Flush Installation: Provides a smooth, flush finish on the side opposite the installation for a clean aesthetic and functional clearance.
Stainless Steel Compatibility: Specifically designed for installation into 300 Series stainless steel sheets with a hardness of HRB 88 or less.
NASM - Products meet Military Specifications (MS) and National Aerospace Standards (NAS) requirements as applicable and are shipped with appropriate documentation.
