LAC-832-2MD - Floating self-clinching, locking thread nut by PennEngineering ® (PEM ® )

The LAC-832-2MD is a floating self-clinching nut specifically engineered to provide high-strength locking threads in thin metal sheets. This fastener features a unique floating nut housed within a 300 Series Stainless Steel retainer, allowing for 0.76mm of total adjustment to effectively compensate for mating hole misalignment. It utilizes a prevailing torque locking feature to ensure that screws remain securely fastened even when subjected to intense vibration or thermal cycling. The self-clinching design allows the fastener to become a permanent part of the assembly when squeezed into a prepared hole, ensuring the reverse side of the host sheet remains completely flush.

Misalignment Compensation: Allows for 0.38mm minimum float in all directions from center (0.76mm total) to correct for assembly inaccuracies.

Vibration Resistance: The prevailing torque locking element prevents hardware from loosening during operation or under dynamic loads.

Permanent Attachment: Clinches into place to become an integral part of the metal sheet, eliminating the risk of loose, lost, or falling hardware.

Flush Installation: Provides a smooth, flush finish on the side opposite the installation for a clean aesthetic and functional clearance.

Optimized for Thicker Sheets: Specifically designed with a Shank Code 2 to accommodate sheet thicknesses from 1.38mm to 2.39mm.
