Product Description
The SS-032-0ZI is a flush-mounting self-clinching nut designed for installation into stainless steel, steel, or aluminum panels. Unlike standard nuts, the SS series is made from heat-treated carbon steel, allowing it to clinch into harder materials (up to HRB 80) without deforming the fastener.
The installation is achieved by pressing the nut into a round hole in the host sheet using a parallel squeezing force. This process causes the sheet material to cold-flow into an undercut under the nut's head, while a serrated clinching ring provides high resistance to rotation (torque-out) and push-out.
High Torque-Out: The serrated ring ensures the nut remains fixed even when high tightening torque is applied to the mating screw.
Corrosion Resistance: The "ZI" finish provides a colorless trivalent zinc plating that is RoHS compliant and protects against oxidation.
Stainless Steel Compatibility: While many fasteners struggle with the work-hardening of stainless steel, the SS series is specifically hardened to be compatible with stainless steel panels.
