Product Description
The PEM® AC-032-1 is a specialized Floating Self-Clinching Nut designed to provide high-strength, load-bearing threads while compensating for mating hole misalignment. Part of the AC™ Series, this fastener features an internal nut element that "floats" within a stationary outer retainer.
This floating action allows for a total adjustment of 0.76 mm (.030 in), effectively resolving assembly challenges where tolerances or minor drilling inaccuracies prevent standard fixed fasteners from aligning with mating components. The AC-032-1 is engineered for installation into thin aluminum or steel sheets, providing a permanent, captive threading solution that remains secure even under high torque or vibration.
Misalignment Compensation: The nut element can move up to 0.38 mm (.015 in) radially from the center, allowing for easier assembly of panels with multiple attachment points.
Non-Locking Threads: Provides a standard free-running thread for applications where a self-locking feature is not required.
High Torque Resistance: The self-clinching retainer provides excellent resistance to rotation and push-out once properly installed in the host panel.
Permanent Attachment: Eliminates the risk of loose hardware falling into sensitive electronic assemblies during maintenance or operation.
Common Uses: Frequently used in telecommunications equipment, computer server enclosures, industrial controls, and automotive electronic modules.
NASM - Products meet Military Specifications (MS) and National Aerospace Standards (NAS) requirements as applicable and are shipped with appropriate documentation.
