Product Description
The PEM® A4-032-1 is a high-performance Floating Self-Clinching Nut specifically engineered for use in stainless steel sheets. Part of the A4™ Series, this fastener is designed to provide high-strength, load-bearing threads in thin panels while compensating for mating hole misalignment.
The internal nut element is held within a stationary retainer, allowing for a total float of 0.76 mm (.030 in). This lateral movement effectively resolves assembly challenges caused by tolerance build-up or minor inaccuracies in hole positioning. Once installed, the retainer becomes a permanent part of the host panel, providing excellent torque-out and push-out resistance.
Stainless Steel Compatibility: Specifically designed to clinch into stainless steel sheets where standard carbon steel fasteners may fail to perform.
Misalignment Compensation: The floating nut element moves up to 0.38 mm (.015 in) in any direction from the center, streamlining the assembly of multi-hole panels.
Corrosion Resistance: The combination of 300 and 400 series stainless steel with a passivated finish provides superior protection against environmental degradation.
Permanent Attachment: The self-clinching process ensures the nut remains captive to the panel, eliminating loose hardware risks during field maintenance.
Common Uses: Widely utilized in medical equipment, food processing machinery, marine electronics, and outdoor telecommunications enclosures.
NASM - Products meet Military Specifications (MS) and National Aerospace Standards (NAS) requirements as applicable and are shipped with appropriate documentation.
