The AS-032-1ZI features a unique internal nut element that "floats" within a stationary outer retainer. This design allows for a total of 0.030 in (0.76 mm) adjustment for hole misalignment (0.015 in in any direction from the center). This makes it an ideal solution for complex assemblies where precision alignment between multiple components is difficult to achieve.
This design allows for a total adjustment of 0.76 mm (.030 in), effectively resolving issues where tolerances or minor drilling inaccuracies prevent standard fasteners from aligning. Once squeezed into a properly sized hole, the retainer becomes a permanent part of the panel, providing high-strength, load-bearing threads in thin sheets where tapping is not possible.
