Product Description
The PEM® AC-632-1 is a non-locking, floating self-clinching nut designed to provide strong, load-bearing threads in thin sheets. This fastener allows for up to .030” (0.76 mm) total adjustment to compensate for mating hole misalignment. A unique PEM feature provides extra strength and support in the assembly by having the threads of the floating nut extend fully into the retainer shank. These fasteners are installed by being squeezed into prepared holesusing any standard press; this action causes the sheet material to cold-flow into an undercut, permanently locking the fastener in place. Once installed, the host sheet remains flush on one side.
Misalignment Compensation: Provides .015” minimum float in all directions from center (.030” total) to account for mating hole inaccuracies.
Enhanced Support: Threads extend fully into the retainer shank for superior strength.
Self-Clinching Action: Squeezes into prepared holes for high pushout and torque-out resistance.
Flush Installation: Leaves the reverse side of the host sheet entirely flush for a clean assembly profile.
Material Integrity: Specifically designed for installation into steel or aluminum panels with a maximum hardness of HRB 70.
