Product Description
The AS-632-2ZI features a two-part design consisting of a threaded nut element held captive within a stationary outer retainer. This configuration allows the internal nut to "float" a total of 0.030 in (0.76 mm)—moving up to 0.015 in in any direction from the center. This feature is critical for simplifying the assembly of large panels or complex components where exact hole alignment between mating parts is difficult to maintain.
Misalignment Compensation: The 0.030" total float reduces assembly time and prevents part damage caused by forced alignment of mismatched holes.
Captive Hardware: The nut remains trapped within the retainer after installation, ensuring no loose hardware can fall into sensitive electronic or mechanical systems.
High Performance: Provides significantly higher torque-out and pushout resistance compared to standard tapped holes in thin sheets.
Flush Profile: The reverse side of the panel remains completely flush after installation, maintaining clean exterior aesthetics and allowing for tight-fitting mating components.
